Why does Outlook keep crashing and refuse to open even in Safe Mode?

4 days agoI’m hoping someone here can point me in the right direction because I’ve run out of ideas. Earlier this week, Outlook started freezing whenever I tried to open large email folders. At first, I assumed it was a temporary glitch, but things quickly got worse. Eventually, Outlook stopped opening altogether. Following Microsoft's recommendations, I tried launching it in Safe Mode, but to my surprise, Outlook Fails to Open in Safe Mode too.
I went through all the standard troubleshooting steps. I disabled add-ins, repaired Microsoft Office, created a brand-new Outlook profile, and even reset the navigation pane. Nothing seemed to help. Every launch attempt either froze on the loading screen or closed automatically after a few seconds. The most frustrating part was realizing that Outlook failed to launch in safe mode, which usually rules out most configuration and add-in problems.
After spending hours searching through forums, I found several users mentioning corrupted PST files. My mailbox contains years of emails, project discussions, invoices, and attachments, so it made sense that the data file could be damaged. I first tried ScanPST, but it couldn't fully repair the file.
That's when I tested the DRS Softech PST Recovery Tool. The software scanned my PST file, recovered mailbox items, and allowed me to preview everything before saving. It restored emails, contacts, calendars, and attachments without affecting the original structure. Once I attached the repaired PST back to Outlook, the application started normally again.
If you're facing a situation where Outlook Fails to Open in Safe Mode, don't just focus on Office repairs. Check the health of your PST file as well. In my case, repairing the mailbox data solved the issue much faster than repeatedly reinstalling Outlook.
Has anyone else experienced Outlook startup failures caused by PST corruption rather than add-ins or profile issues?

3 days agoI first started looking into IP privacy after noticing how many websites seemed to know my approximate location immediately. Hiding an IP address doesn’t solve every privacy issue, but it can reduce the amount of location-related information that websites and services collect automatically. I also felt more comfortable using public Wi-Fi after I started using a VPN regularly. While reading about different ways people use VPNs on mobile devices, I came across https://toggle.org/vpn-for-android and found some useful explanations that helped me understand the practical side of IP protection a bit better. For me, the biggest benefit is simply having more control over what information is visible while browsing.
